New ‘Hei Yue Guang Fa Ze’ poster drops as Yakisa and Merxat Yalkun-led drama premieres tomorrow
With so many amazing looking Chinese dramas either already having premiered this week, or about to premiere in the next couple of days, we can now add the upcoming Hei Yue Guang Fa Ze to the list — as it hits Tencent Video and WeTV on August 19th.
The 24-episode C-drama’s premiere date was confirmed today on Weibo along with a new poster featuring leads Yakisa (Ye Cheng: Reborn) and Merxat Yalkun (The Restless Period at Night).
A message about the drama’s plot and its release schedule on Tencent was also released:

The Hei Yue Guang Fa Ze production details
The not particularly well-promoted Chinese mini-drama is set to premiere tomorrow, August 18th, 2025.
Its plot looks like this:
The story follows wealthy heiress Dongfang Xi (played by Yakisa), who hides her identity for love, working hard to support the scumbag Ye Yun Zhou—only to be betrayed. After awakening to the realization that she’s the villainess in a novel, she makes a deal with a system to change her fate.
Ultimately, she exposes Ye Yun Zhou’s true nature at her homecoming banquet. But when he tries to cling to her again, she discovers that her secret admirer, her “big brother” Dong Fang Yan (played by Merxat Yalkun), is actually the system’s human form.
Just before her fate takes a turn, he intentionally loses their bet, revealing his long-hidden feelings for her…
And yep, while Hei Yue Guang Fa Ze is only a short drama, if you enjoyed Merxat Yalkun (aka Mi Re) in dramas like My Sassy Princess or Sacred Tree Has Heart, or liked Yakisa in Fateful Love or Revenge of Royal Princess, this one may just float your boat.
