No Longer Allowed in Another World/Bungou Stray Dogs collab visual features Osamu Dazai as he appears in both anime

The production committee for the upcoming comedy isekai anime No Longer Allowed in Another World has just released a new visual for the project via the anime’s official X account.

This one, however, is more unique than the norm as it is a No Longer Allowed in Another World and Bungou Stray Dogs collab visual featuring protagonist Osamu Dazai.

Just as he is portrayed in both anime.

Dressed in his detective-style trench coat as one of the main characters in Bungou Stray Dogs, Dazai is a member of the Armed Detective Agency and former executive of the underworld organization, the Port Mafia.

In contrast, the Osamu Dazai of No Longer Allowed in Another World is an author, and is still wearing his traditional Japanese clothes, with wooden geta slipping off his feet.

Both versions of Dazai, however, still want to kill themselves alongside a beautiful woman.

The only difference is Bungou Stray Dogs‘ Dazai changes his mind after his friend Oda dies.

Meanwhile, No Longer Allowed in Another World‘ Dazai has just killed himself when the anime begins, and then has been iseakai-ed into a new world.

Both characters, of course, are loosely based on the real-life Japanese author Osamu Dazai who did commit suicide alongside his girlfriend back in 1948.

In both anime, however, Osamu Dazai is brought back to life, which is a really nice way of remembering and paying homage to the Japanese author who, at just 38-years-old, apparenty believed life wasn’t worth living anymore.

You can watch Osamu Dazai in Bungou Stray Dogs on Crunchyroll, while No Longer Allowed in Another World is due to premiere on July 9th, also on Crunchyroll.

A short commemorative video for the No Longer Allowed in Another World/Bungou Stray Dogs collaboration visual was also released today on KADOKAWA’s YouTube channel — watch that below.
