Rin Kusumi joins Osananajimi to wa Love Comedy ni Naranai  cast

The new comedy harem anime Osananajimi to wa Love Comedy ni Naranai has dropped a cute visual for protagonist Shio Minamo via its official X account today, along with the announcement VA Rin Kusumi (Emily in My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1) will be voicing the role.

With the casting announcement, the voice actress commented about her latest role:

My name is Rin Kusumi, and I will be playing the role of Shio Mizumoe!

Shio-san is a cheerful girl who is cute and hard-working at times. When I read the original work for the first time, I was really moved by Shio-san’s straightforward, and full-fledged demeanor.

I hope I can express her charm to the best of my ability to meet the expectations of fans of the original work!

I also hope everyone can support the love between these childhood friends, while still laughing at them at times.

The adorable Shio Minamo visual features Eiyuu’s childhood friend wearing her school uniform, and carrying her book bag, and looking just as cute as Eiyuu thinks she is.

But, shhhhhh, he’s never going to tell her that.

Shio’s visual, which is the third teaser visual for the anime to drop so far, came with the message:

For now, still just childhood friends――

Although, of course, Eiyuu might like them to be something quite a bit different.

Who is Shio Minamo?

As for Shio, she is described as having:

A carefree personality, and a school favorite. She always seems to have the same bright (and stupid) personality.

She’s a childhood friend who works hard, because she always wants to be treated like a girl.

Along with the visual, Shio Minamo’s character designs were also released showing the adorable high schooler from various angles.

What is the Osananajimi to wa Love Comedy ni Naranai plot about?

According to Volume 1 of the hit manga series written and illustrated by Shinya Misu, the story goes like this:

High school boy Eiyuu’s problem is that his two childhood friends, Shio and Akari, are too cute!

If they find out that he is the only one looking at the two of them with les than pure feelings, even though they don’t feel the same way… that would be too bad!

On the other hand, the two of them seem to have their own secrets as well?!

All the heroines are childhood friends!! Frustrating! Complicated!! But childhood friends are the best!!!

Osananajimi to wa Love Comedy ni Naranai, which is alternatively titled It’s Not Possible To Be In a Romantic Comedy With a Childhood Friend, is scheduled to premiere some time in 2026.
