Our Golden Days, Ep 1 grabs high ratings – international viewers say “it’s a good start”
New KBS2 weekend drama Our Golden Days, Episode 1 premiered last night to the highest ratings of the day for any show.
According to Nielsen Korea, Our Golden Days, Episode 1 earned 13.9 percent of the nationwide audience, while also grabbing 12.5 percent of the Seoul viewership.
Both ratings placed the Korean drama in the #1 spot for the day in both regions.
Like most KBS2 weekend dramas, we can also expect those ratings to rise quickly.
After all, look at its predecessor For Eagle Brothers, for instance, which started out with 15.5 percent/14.7 percent ratings in both regions, and ended its 54-episode run with a 20.4 percent /18.5 percent audience share last Sunday.
International reaction to Our Golden Days
There are no reliable international ratings out yet, so we have no idea how well the Korean drama will do with non-Korean viewers, but we will keep you posted here at Leo Sigh as they become available.
Meanwhile, international viewers on My Drama List, however, are commenting Episode 1 kicked the drama off to a good start.

Just watched the first episode, and overall, it was a good start. For some reason, I found it hard to follow all the characters, maybe too many were introduced in the first ep.
All the young supporting characters looked quite similar to me. I found it a bit difficult to distinguish them, but it will get better with more episodes. Anyway, overall, I’d say it was a promising start.
