Parole Examiner Lee, Ep 2 ratings rise further – K-drama appears to be a hit

As if it wasn’t good enough that the K-drama Parole Examiner Lee premiered to better ratings than every other tvN drama (except one) this year, it seems Episode 2 aired last night and performed even better.

In other words, this one may just be a (well-deserved) hit.

According to Nielsen Korea, Parole Examiner Lee, Episode 2 earned an even larger audience than its first episode, grabbing 5.35 percent of the nationwide viewership last night compared to Episode 1’s rating of 4.59 percent.

That even better performance continued with audiences in Seoul, with the crime drama’s latest episode earning 5.31 percent last night compared to Monday night’s 4.85 percent.

Both ratings placed the Korean drama in first place in its time slot.

International ratings for Parole Examiner Lee after Episode 2

Of course, the same trolls over on My Drama List (MAL) who downrate every drama that isn’t a seen-this-a-million-times romance drama are out in force downrating Parole Examiner Lee after its second episode aired.

That means, what should easily be a Korean drama earning well over 8.0 out of 10 is currently being rated a low 7.7 by a bunch of brain-dead idiots.

Of course, that also means that, as Parole Examiner Lee continues to air new episodes and the trolls wander off to downrate something else, it will rise in the ratings to eventually end up where it should be.

Just like almost every drama on that site does.

Meanwhile, the opposite is true over on Viki, where the K-drama is currently streaming to its international audience.

There Parole Examiner Lee is earning a crazy high 9.9 out of 10 (and, no, it doesn’t deserve that either), meaning it will fall back down into the low 9.0s or high 8.0s once more episodes come out.

Leaving me to remind you. Again.

Never allow fools on a website to decide if you should watch a Korean drama, or any other drama for that matter, yourself.

Watch the first couple of episodes of Parole Examiner Lee now, for instance, and if you enjoy a well-written, nicely-acted crime drama with interesting characters and some pretty funny black humor, you will likely love this one.

The next episode of Parole Examiner Lee will air on November 25th. Let’s hope its ratings keep on rising, eh?

And, again, I’ll remind you of the excellent cast — Go Soo, Kwon Yu Ri, Baek Ji Won in her first (well-deserved) main role, and Lee Hak Joo.
