Pretty ‘Blue Orchestra’ Season 2 key visual drops featuring Aono, Sakuma, Tsutsui and others – anime gets premiere date

Premiere date of Blue Orchestra, Season 2 coming up fast

It’s been almost two years since the final episode of Season 1 of Blue Orchestra (Ao no Orchestra) aired and, finally, (holy hell, finally!) we’ve just got word the first episode of Blue Orchestra, Season 2 will hit on October 5th.

That confirmation came today along with a new Blue Orchestra, Season 2 key visual of the four first-year students, including Hajime Aono, and second-year percussionist Yuusuke Sakuma as well.

The new club president, Toshiki Tsutsui, is also featured.

As you’d expect, the striking visual is all done in the anime’s signature gorgeous shades of blue.

We also got confirmation that, while Season 1 comprised 24 episodes, Season 2 of the music-themed anime will feature 21 episodes in total. So, thankfully, only slightly shorter.

Production details for Blue Orchestra

Just like its first season, Blue Orchestra, Season 2 is based on the popular manga series written and illustrated by Makoto Okui.

The manga has 12 volumes out in Japanese, but has not (yet) been licensed for publication in English, unfortunately.

As for its staff, Season 2 is again being directed by Seiji Kishi (Kengan Ashura), with Youko Kakihara (Buddy Daddies) back in charge of scripts and series composition, and Kazuaki Morita (Classroom of the Elite) designing the characters.

Nippon Animation (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch!) is also back animating the series.

The first volume of the Japanese manga describes the Blue Orchestra plot like this:

Aono Hajime is a former music prodigy who, for some reason, stopped playing the violin.

In the fall of his third year of junior high, he meets a girl, joins his high school orchestra, and his time begins to move again.

This is the beginning of an ensemble youth drama where both sounds and hearts connect.

Keep an eye out for the anime’s official trailer dropping, hopefully soon.

You can also learn more, including watch a slew of videos (only in Japanese sadly) via the anime’s official website.
