See You Tomorrow at the Food Court trailer intros Wada and Yamamoto perfectly – Watch!

KADOKAWA Animation’s YouTube channel has just dropped the first real trailer for slice-of-life anime See You Tomorrow at the Food Court, and it does a great job of properly introducing protagonists Wada and Yamamoto.

It follows on from the teaser trailer and the cute Wada and Yamamoto visual that dropped late last month.

In the just-over-1-minute See You Tomorrow at the Food Court trailer, we see Wada obsessing over game characters, while wondering why she is spending so much money on intangible things that really are just a waste of her time and cash.

Meanwhile, Yamamoto, the more stoic one, wonders if at least Wada’s passion about game characters might eventually lead to something more beneficial.

Of course, Wada’s guilt over spending money on game characters only lasts about 20 seconds because, as soon as a new character is introduced, she’s all-in on paying for him as well.

“This guy is so harmless, he looks skilled at surviving away from public view”, she obsesses.

Production details for See You Tomorrow at the Food Court

The upcoming slice-of-life short anime series (just 6 episodes) is based on the manga series of the same title (フードコートで、また明日 in Japanese) written and illustrated by Shinichirou Nariie.

The just-two-volume manga series’ adaptation is being directed by Kazuomi Koga (Ganbare Douki-chan), with Jukki Hanada (Sengoku Youko) in charge of series composition, and Kyuuta Sakai (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-) as character designer.

Atelier Pontdarc (No Longer Allowed in Another World) is animating the series and, after their disaster that was Uncle from Another World, an anime that took them almost a year to get to air, at least with only six episodes, they should manage it. (Nah, I still haven’t forgiven them for that fiasco).

As for the plot of the short anime See You Tomorrow at the Food Court, its Japanese manga describes it in this fashion:

At first glance, Wada is an honor student and a sheltered young lady who gives off an aura of being difficult to talk to. Yamamoto has blonde hair, tanned skin, and a gyaru-like appearance that makes people around her frightened. They both attend different schools and spend their time alone.

But when they meet at the food court every day after school, they show expressions that only the other one knows.

See You Tomorrow at the Food Court (aka Food Court de, Mata Ashita) premieres some time in July. Look forward to it.
