Considering the ongoing cultivation donghua Spy x Sect is animated by the same studio (Suoyi Technology) that animates the long-running series 100,000 Years of Qi Refining, I have expected that we would get many more episodes than the initial 48 that were mentioned when the series began its run back in October, 2024.
It now appears my expectations were correct.
That’s because, after Episode 48 aired in China, the official Weibo account for Suoyi Technology has just announced another 52 episodes of Spy x Sect (aka Everyone in the Sect Except Me is an Undercover Agent or Zongmen Li Chule Wo Dou Shi Wodi) are now in production.
No more details than that were released, except for the statement that new episodes will begin releasing from March 15th.
But, even with minimal details, I’m absolutely psyched as, while it doesn’t offer anything profound, the Spy x Sect donghua does feature short weekly episodes starring a protagonist that easily kicks some ass.

Throw in it is also populated by several incredibly beautiful girls who have attached themselves to Chen Ning’s posse and, yep, I’m all in for 52 more episodes.
How about you?
Spy x Sect production details
The Chinese animated series is created by the aforementioned Suoyi Technology, and produced by Bilibili.
After premiering with its first couple of episodes on October 14th, new episodes have been released twice a week via Bilibili’s own streaming service, as well as appear on the Made by Bilibili YouTube channel a couple of weeks later.
Its plot, by the way, goes like this:
Spy x Sect blends elements of comedy, fantasy, and cultivation as it follows protagonist Chen Ning who finds himself transmigrated into a world where he becomes the young master of a powerful sect.
However, he soon discovers that everyone in the sect, except for him, is a spy or undercover agent from rival factions.
Despite the constant scheming and deception around him, Chen Ning uses his wit and modern knowledge to navigate the treacherous environment, while turning the tables on his enemies and strengthening his sect.
The donghua humorously explores themes of loyalty, strategy, and survival in a world filled with intrigue and danger.
The trailer for its recently released 48th episode is down below.
You can watch all 48 episodes of the first season of Spy x Sect now, and look forward to Episode 49 — the first of 52 new episodes of the donghua — which is on its way soon.
