Sword of Coming has won five major awards at the 2024 Tencent Video Golden Goose Awards.

Those awards are for IP of the Year, Anime of the Year, Most Popular Anime of the Year, Best Anime Director of the Year, and Best Anime Screenwriter of the Year.

Yes, you could say the donghua is very well-liked in China.

No other details about Sword of Coming, Season 2 have yet been released, but we will keep you up-to-date when they are.

You can watch the short Season 2 trailer below.

Sword of Coming details

The first season of Sword of Coming premiered on April 15th, 2024 and ran for 26 episodes, ending its run on December 14th.

Tencent describes the Season 1 plot like this:

In this vast world, there is nothing that doesn’t exist.

In the Li Zhu Cave Heaven, a poor boy who was supposed to have great fortune is unable to grasp the opportunities that come his way due to the shattering of his life’s key item, his fate-bound tablet.

As a result, many powerful figures focus their efforts on him, causing his friends to receive great opportunities, while the boy himself only finds himself in the eye of the storm.

The action adventure donghua is animated by the previously mentioned Cloud Art (Jade Dynasty), and produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures.

It is earning a 7.50 out of 10 from users of the My Anime List website.

A very solid rating for a donghua on that site, as Chinese animated series are rarely rated well by the site’s users, who are often more familiar with Japanese anime than Chinese donghua.
