The Apothecary Diaries, Season 2, Second Cour creditless opening and ending animations have been released.
Animations that include the hit anime’s second OP ‘Kusushiki‘ by Mrs Green Apple, and ED ‘Hitorigoto‘ by Omoinotake.
Of course, both rock bands have provided anime theme songs before — Mrs. Green Apple (Oblivion Battery and Fire Force) and Omoinotake (Cherry Magic!, Blue Period and My Hero Academia to name a few).
The Apothecary Diaries 2 second opening animation is typical of the anime in that it features main characters Maomao and Jinshi, but also looks at things from the different perspectives of Shisui, Jinshi and Xiaolan (very cleverly done).
The upbeat ‘Kusushiki‘ happily plays each episode in.
In the ending animation, however, things are slightly different in that, while it looks at the relationship between Maomao, Shisui and Xiaolan in a somewhat congenial, happy way, the somber ED ‘Hitorigoto‘ foreshadows what is soon to come in their relationship.
As several fans who love the dynamic between the three friends commented on the video (and who have probably read the novels), “This is the song that will make you cry”.

Both songs, however, are superb for the differing atmospheres of the anime, with ‘Kusushiki‘ emphasizing the fun and romance of so much of it, while ‘Hitorigoto‘ emphasizes the sometimes dark events that also take place in that wonderful world.
The 2nd cour OP and ED play on the anime from Season 2, Episode 3 onwards.
