The Demon Hunter, Ep 3 trailer — Meng Chuan is attacked after breaking out of The Abyss

A trailer for the just-released-for-VIP-subscribers donghua The Demon Hunter, Episode 3 has been released.

The Chinese animated series is one of the most popular of 2024, already, with just two episodes out and Episode 3 hitting earlier this morning. So, as you can imagine, that trailer has already been viewed more than 51,000 times.

Recap of events in the donghua’s previous episode

That The Demon Hunter, Episode 3 trailer comes after, you will remember, protagonist Meng Chuan was illegally eliminated from the Yuanchu Mountain Trial in Episode 2, causing him to have to enter The Abyss in an attempt to become the 500th person selected for the competition.

Of course, as things always seem to be difficult for Meng Chuan, that trial was crazy with competitors being forced to face a Mantis Demon King that quickly killed many of The Abyss competitors in seconds.

It was then left to Meng Chuan, in collaboration with another competitor and in an absolutely spectacular fight, to destroy the Demon King.

But, as always seems to be Meng Chuan’s luck, it was the mystery competitor (who is soon revealed to be Ji Yuan Tong) who grabbed the demon core ie: the key to The Abyss door, and walked out of The Abyss leaving Meng Chuan behind.

Episode 2 of The Demon Hunter then ends with Meng Chuan becoming incredibly angry at all the obstacles that have been hurled in his way by other competitors.

And so, after leveling up to Stage 5, Qi Alignment, he breaks through door in order to walk out of The Abyss and take his place in the Yuanchu Mountain Trial.

The Demon Hunter 2, Episode 3 trailer shows off Meng Chuan’s real power

The Demon Hunter 2, Episode 3 trailer picks up from where we left off in Episode 2, with the other Yuanchu Mountain Trial competitors staring at Meng Chuan until a small group of them decide to attack.

It is then we see Meng Chuan’s real power come to life.

A power that, along with help from Yan Jin, immediately overcomes most of the others now attacking him, while Meng Chuan himself goes after #2 Genius, Chu Yong. The guy who has led the attack against him.

The trailer ends with Saintess and Yuanchu Mountain Trial Chief Examiner, Qing Yu, stopping the fight calling them “the most reckless bunch of candidates” she has ever seen.
