The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor trailer intros Jill and Hades as she promises she’ll make him happy

The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor trailer shows moment reincarnated Jill meets Hades

Earlier today, Kadokawa revealed a teaser trailer and the main voice cast for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Sarasa Nagase’s novel series The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor (aka Yarinaoshi Reijō wa Ryūtei Heika o Kōryaku-chū in Japanese).

The new The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor trailer gives us a short introduction to main characters Hades Theos Rave and Jill Cervel, as they meet, the Dragon Emperor proposes to her (after she proposed to him and then retracted it), and as Jill promises to marry him.

The trailer ends with Jill emphatically announcing, “I will spend my whole life to make you happy”.

With that promise, can she prevent Hades from going down the madness-controlled road that only leads to mayhem and blood?

And will this age-gap romance anime (I love those!) turn out to fulfill the promise many of us are expecting?

Main The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor cast and staff

The main cast announcements for the anime were for the two leads — Shuu Uchida (Mia in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) who plays Jill Cervel, and Kikunosuke Toya (he played Denji in Chainsaw Man) as Hades Teos Rave, the Dragon Emperor.

Kentarou Suzuki (Requiem of the Rose King) is directing the anime series, with Atsuo Ishino (A Certain Scientific Railgun T) overseeing the series scripts, and Sana Komatsu (The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3) is in charge of character designs.

J.C. Staff (KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! – Legend of Crimson) is in charge of anime production.

Where to buy The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor novels and manga

The upcoming The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor anime likely means even more attention will be placed on the light novel series its based on.

Luckily for light novel fans, the series is being published in English by Cross Infinite World, who explains the plot like this:

Jill is sentenced to death by the crown prince, her fiancé. But just before she dies, she’s sent back in time six years to the party where their engagement had been decided. To avoid this route of ruin, Jill immediately proposes to the person standing behind her…but it’s the man who was her greatest enemy, Emperor Hades?!

Jill knows all about his future descent into evil. She quickly retracts the proposal, but the delighted Hades takes her back to his castle and makes her a meal. Completely won over by the food, Jill makes a life-changing decision…

“I’m going to reform—no, I’m going to make you happy!”

It’s time to redo this life with the enemy!

The English-language manga adaptation of the light novel series is being published by Yen Press, who currently has Volumes 1 and 2 out and Volume 3 on its way on April 23rd.

The new fantasy anime series is set to debut later in 2024.

Now watch the just-released The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor trailer, as this one sounds like fun!
