The Haunted Palace, EP10 earns highest Saturday ratings yet

The ongoing SBS drama The Haunted Palace, Episode 10 aired on Saturday night in South Korea, and grabbed its highest Saturday rating yet.

This, right after it earned its highest ever rating with its Friday evening episode the night before.

According to the latest data from Nielsen Korea, The Haunted Palace, Episode 10 grabbed 9.8% percent of the nationwide audience, which is a drop from Friday night’s 10.7 percent.

Saturday night’s offering, however, has been the K-drama’s lowest rated episode since its first Saturday episode aired on April 19th, so this was expected.

Meanwhile, audiences in Seoul also tuned in in high numbers, earning Episode 10 a solid 9.3 percent of that region’s viewership — also down from its previous episode’s 10.0 percent.

Second most-watched show for all of Saturday

Both the nationwide and Seoul rating also mean the SBS drama was the second most-watched show for all of Saturday.

That second place is due to being behind the always-#1 drama For Eagle Brothers, which grabbed an incredibly high 18.6 percent/18.1 percent of the nationwide/Seoul audiences last night.

With the way the ratings are going, and with six more episodes of The Haunted Palace still to air, I will also pretty much guarantee we are likely to see even higher ratings for the Korean fantasy period drama as it gets closer to its conclusion.

The Haunted Palace stars Yook Sung Jae, Kim Ji Yeon (aka Bona), and Kim Ji Hoon (who, I think, is by far the best member of the main cast).

Its next episode will hit Viki internationally on Friday, May 23rd.
