The Holy Grail of Eris light novels get an anime – Connie and Scarlett’s voice actors named

Now this will be a popular anime announcement from the official X account of the The Holy Grail of Eris light novel/manga series.

Yep, the supernatural fantasy-themed The Holy Grail of Eris is getting an anime adaptation and, along with that announcement, fans of the series also got a cute teaser visual to go with it. (see below)

As you might expect if you have read the novels/the manga series, The Holy Grail of Eris anime announcement visual features shy and blushing protagonist Constance Grail (aka Connie) alongside Scarlett Castiel, the bold ghost of an executed noblewoman who now possesses her.

Then again, if you knew anything about Scarlett, you might be a little hesitant to put yourself out there as well.

Especially as the tagline of the anime announcement comments from Scarlett to Connie, “You must put the rest of your life on the line to ensure that my revenge is successful!”

First The Holy Grail of Eris anime teaser trailer released

The Holy Grail of Eris anime also got its first teaser trailer (down below), which kicks off with Scarlett at the moment of her execution warning everyone involved “All of you will be cursed”.

We then hear the shy Connie asking “But why was she executed? Someone must have been hiding something?”

Connie, however, has her own problems (read plot summary below), so the next comment is again from Scarlett telling her “I will help you, but you don’t get to complain about it later”, before loudly proclaiming Scarlett herself will get her revenge against those who caused her death.

The Holy Grail of Eris trailer features the voices of actors Sayumi Suzushiro (Tama in No Longer Allowed in Another World as Scarlett, and Kana Ichinose (Nephy in An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride) who plays Connie.

The Holy Grail of Eris light novel series

The anime is based on the light novel series of the same name by Kujira Tokiwa.

With just four volumes of the original series published (the series is now complete), the first season of the anime may end up being a one and only, depending on how far in the plot it gets.

Yen Press is publishing the series in English, with all three volumes of the main story available, plus a fourth volume featuring an additional story to the main series.

They are also publishing its manga adaptation, with its eighth volume coming out last month, and its ninth volume due in January, 2025.

Yen nicely describes the novels’ plot like this:

As a viscount’s daughter, Constance Grail is an ordinary girl whose only notable trait is sincerity, leaving her with no real options when someone steals her fiance and falsely accuses her of petty theft at a ball.

While Connie awaits her undeserved punishment, a ghost appears to offer a bargain. The spirit is none other than Scarlett Castiel, a noblewoman once praised for her beauty, lineage, and undeniable charisma-and executed some ten years earlier for her wicked deeds.

When Connie accepts this proposal, she is possessed by the infamous spirit who instantly turns the tide on her tormenter, thus saving the hapless girl from her miserable fate.

It’s never wise striking a deal without knowing exactly what you’ve committed to, though…or you might find yourself bound to a ghost dead set on revenge against her own enemies!

The director, main cast or premiere date for the upcoming anime have not been announced yet.

We will update you here at Leo Sigh as more information is released.

Until then, watch the new teaser trailer, as this one sounds delicious.
