The Immortal Ascension hits 8,000 on heat index with just 4 episodes out

Now, I have to admit I am still iffy on The Immortal Ascension after watching the first four episodes and not sold on much of it so far. (Although Yang Yang is doing a decent job as Han Li, and Chin Shih Chieh killed it in the role of Doctor Mo).

For me, the donghua is better written, and offers more depth to both the plot and the characters. But we’ll see how the drama develops after the next episodes drop as it could improve.

That being said, that doesn’t seem to be the case for most viewers currently watching The Immortal Ascension in China, as the Chinese drama has already garnered 8,000 on the YOUKU heat index (actually over 8,300 now) and is likely to pass the coveted 10,000 milestone before long as well.
