The Matchmakers E4 earns solid ratings – K-drama performing well outside Korea too

The Matchmakers, Episode 4 aired on South Korean TV last night to solid ratings.

According to Nielsen Korea, those ratings were 3.9 percent nationwide, which is slightly down from the K-drama‘s previous episode’s rating of 4.0 percent. So slight, however, the drop is inconsequential.

The rating for The Matchmakers, Episode 4 in Seoul was 3.7 percent compared to its previous episode’s 4.0 percent.

Yes, slightly worse than the K-drama’s nationwide rating, but, again, not so much worse that the rating has any meaning.

Especially as the Rowoon-led drama has had one high rating of 4.5 percent and one low rating of 3.6 percent since it premiered on October 30th, but is now stuck solidly in the middle with not much movement in either direction over the last couple of episodes.

The Matchmakers is performing well outside Korea

With four episodes now out, The Matchmakers is also still performing well on Viki where it is streaming outside Korea.

In fact, since its first episode, the Korean drama has not moved from its initial extremely high 9.4 out of 10 rating on the streaming platform.

With almost 1,000 people rating the drama on Viki so far, and with the comments about the drama and its actors being predominantly extremely positive, it doesn’t show any likelihood of doing either.

The next episode of The Matchmakers, which stars Rowoon and Cho Yi Hyun, is due to air on KBS2 in South Korea on Monday, November 13th at its usual time of 21:45 (KST).

Viki will stream the episode for its international users soon after.
