The Matchmakers Ep 8 on the rise – ratings heading back to Ep 1’s all-time high

The KBS2 drama The Matchmakers, Episode 8 aired in South Korea last night to a fairly substantial rise in its ratings.

Those ratings now put the K-drama only .6 percent away from the highest ever rating it earned for Episode 1.

According to the data from Nielsen Korea, The Matchmakers, Episode 8 earned 3.9 percent of the audience share nationwide, which is an increase of .6 percent from its previous episode.

In Seoul, Episode 8 also saw a ratings increase last night that bumped the drama to 4.1 percent, which is a teeny tiny .1 percent away from its highest rating in the region it earned for Episode 1.

Viki viewers still loving The Matchmakers

Over on the streaming platform Viki, where the historical comedy drama is airing for international viewers, The Matchmakers is also still rated a very high 9.4 out of 10.

Comments are also highly positive for the Rowoon and Choi Yi Hyun led drama, with viewers commenting on how “fun” the series is, and how “spunky and adorable” main female lead Jung Soon Deok has turned out to be.

Rowoon too is being applauded for his superb comedic acting.

The next episode of The Matchmakers will air tonight on KBS2 at at 21:45 (KST).

The Matchmakers began airing on October 30th, 2023 and is now scheduled to run its 16 episodes through to December 25th.

Now that will be a nice way to celebrate Christmas, eh?
