The Matchmakers Ep 9 audience on the rise – close to its all-time high for Ep 1

The Matchmakers saw a ratings increase nationwide with a solid rating in Seoul

It appears The Matchmakers, Episode 9 that aired in South Korea last night managed to grab back most of the audience that the K-drama had lost over the last couple of weeks.

According to new figures from Nielsen Korea, The Matchmakers, Episode 9 grabbed 4.1 percent of the audience share nationwide.

That is not only higher than its previous seven episodes, but also only .40 percent away from the all-time high the drama earned for Episode 1.

The numbers in Seoul were similar, with a 4.0 percent of the audience share last night, a very slight drop and inconsequential from its previous episode’s 4.1 percent, and only .20 percent away from its all-time high in that region.

With seven more episodes to air, and with the buzz about the K-drama still very positive, there is also still plenty of time for The Matchmakers to easily surpass its Episode 1 ratings high.

Especially as the last couple of episodes of the KBS2 drama have been better paced and more interesting than several of its previous.

The Matchmakers stars Rowoon and Choi Yi Hyun, with the excellent cast of Jo Han Chul, Park Ji Young, Lee Hae Young, Jung Shin Hye, Park Ji Won, Choi Hee Jin, Jin Hee Kyung, Jung Bo Min, Oh Ye Ju and Park Hwan Hee in supporting roles.

The Korean comedy romance drama airs every Monday and Tuesday at 21:45 (KST) on KBS2, and also streams for international viewers via Viki, with Netflix also streaming it in select regions.
