The Witch, Episode 8 bounces back with big jump after all-time low ratings for Episode 7
Adapted from Kang Full’s popular webtoon, and starring Park Jin Young and Roh Jeong Eui, the series has steadily enchanted viewers since its February 15th premiere, although its ratings haven’t always shown that.
The Witch, Episode 8, however, proved to be a standout moment for the Korean drama series, as it delivered the highest ratings in the show’s run so far.
According to Nielsen Korea, The Witch, Episode 8 achieved a nationwide rating of 3.07% and a metropolitan (Seoul) rating of 3.18%, with peaks hitting 3.50% at certain points during the episode.
This marked a substantial surge from the previous episode’s all-time low of 1.20%—the largest single-episode jump in the series’ 8-episode run.
The Witch, Episode 8’s success on OTT platforms in Korea
The episode’s success wasn’t limited to traditional TV either.
On Korean OTT platforms, The Witch has been a consistent top performer, holding No. 2 on Netflix Korea and No. 5 on TVING as of early March.
The latest posts on social media also highlight Episode 8’s buzz, with fans praising the K-drama’s emotional twists, excellent performances and superb cinematography.
With the finale of The Witch approaching next weekend then, viewers are now left wondering if the series can grab even higher numbers to close out its run.
Fingers crossed, eh?
