Toilet-bound Hanako-kun’s Teru and Aoi voiced by Yūma Uchida and Minako Sato

The upcoming anime series Toilet-bound Hanako-kun (aka Jibaku Shonen Hanako-kun) has just received a new trailer release, a reveal of new cast members and a gorgeous new visual.

Yūma Uchida (Fruits Basket) is joining the cast of Toilet-bound Hanako-kun as character Teru Minamoto.

Voice actress and new cast member Minako Sato will also be on board playing Aoi Akane, one of Kamome Academy’s most popular and prettiest girls.

It is the young actress’s first ever role in an anime series.

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun is being animated by Lerche (Assassination Classroom, Scum’s Wish), and directed by Masaomi Andō (Episode Director for Fairy Tale, Scum’s Wish, Vampire Knight).

Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Carole & Tuesday) is in charge of series composition, and Mayuka Itou (Unbreakable Machine-Doll, Yumeiro Pâtissière) is chief character designer.

Music will be composed by Hiroshi Takaki (Yuru Yuri: Happy Go Lily).

As for the premise of Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, it is a little scary but actually more fun and comical than anything.

The story of Toilet-bound Hanako-kun

Rumor has it a ghost lives in the third stall of the girls’ third floor bathroom at Kamome Academy.

Named Hanako-kun, if you pluck up the courage to go into the bathroom alone and ask the ghost nicely, you may just get your wish granted.

Nene Yashiro, a high-school student who is interested in the occult, heads off to find out if the rumor is true. But, when she gets there and summons Hanako-kun, she is shocked to discover he’s a boy.

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun‘s 12 episodes will premiere in Japan on January 9th, 2020. No word yet on who will be streaming the series in the west.
