Undercover High School, Episode 4 sees big ratings jump

Korean drama Undercover High School dropped its fourth episode on MBC in South Korea last night, and wow, let’s just say things are really starting to heat up!

Because, while this spy-action-comedy gem starring Seo Kang Joon has been picking up steam since it kicked off, Undercover High School, Episode 4 just took things to a whole new level.

According to Nielsen Korea, it performed so well, the Korean drama scored an average nationwide rating of 8.3% last night, which is up from 6.6% for Episode 3.

Some social media posts are even buzzing about a peak of 10.3% during one funny scene—talk about a glow-up for this Friday-Saturday contender, eh?

Because the Korean drama was already a crazy mix of action, laughs, and a sprinkle of romance right from its first episode, and Episode 4 cranked all that up to eleven.

Especially with that hilarious signing event.

What is Undercover High School about?

If you haven’t caught it yet, Undercover High School follows Jeong Hae Seong (beautifully played by Seo Kang Joon), a slick NIS agent who’s stuck pretending to be a high school kid at the fancy Byeongmoon High School.

His mission? Track down Emperor Gojong’s long-lost gold bullion.

But instead of just kicking butt, he’s dealing with teenage chaos, dodging bullies, and accidentally making friends—all while trying not to blow his cover.

Competing with Buried Hearts for ratings

Meanwhile, the drama’s been duking it out with SBS’s Buried Hearts, that intense revenge flick with Park Hyung Sik, that airs in the same time slot.

Buried Hearts also started strong at 6.1% and jumped to 8.8% by Episode 3, while Undercover High School kicked off at 5.6% and has been climbing ever since.

With Episode 4 of Undercover High School hitting 8.3% last night then, even with Buried Hearts hitting double digits last night, it’s still closing the gap fast.

In other words, Friday-Saturday nights are basically a K-drama fan buffet right now, but Undercover High School will soon be stealing the spotlight.

You can count on it.

The chatter online backs up that hype too with fans calling Episode 4 “straight-up hilarious” and loving the vibes between Seo Kang Joon and Jin Ki Joo, who plays Oh Soo Ah, his sharp-but-sweet homeroom teacher.

People are also picking up on some “ooh, romance incoming” moments, which could shake things up in a good way soon alongside all the action and laughs.

Undercover High School hitting double-digit ratings?

With 12 episodes to air in total, Undercover High School is already nearing the halfway point, and this 8.3% rating is a big neon sign that it might just crash the double-digit party soon.

After all, the Korean comedy has the plot, the cast, and those can’t-miss moments that make you want to tune in every week.

So much so, fans are already counting down to Episode 5 next Friday, dying to see if Hae Seong’s undercover shenanigans can keep the ratings climbing.

I’ll bet they can, don’t you?
