Everything came out via the official Wandance X account this morning, along with the promise of an October, 2025 premiere.

The voice actors named are Kouki Uchiyama (Lancelot in The Seven Deadly Sins), who will be playing high school student and stutter sufferer Kaboku Kotani, and Hina Youmiya (Anna Yamada in The Dangers in My Heart) who plays Hikari Wanda, a girl who just loves to dance.

Their character designs show an art style that is pretty darn cute too.

Wandance production details

The school-themed, dance anime was announced back in August last year, with this being the most substantial update about the anime yet.

Wandance is being directed by Michiya Katou (Osu no Buu-chan).

Studios Madhouse (My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999) and Cyclone Graphics (Nandaka Velonica) are animating.

The upcoming anime adaptation is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Coffee.

That manga has 13 volumes out in Japanese, and with 11 volumes currently out in English via Kodansha USA. Episode 12 will release next month.

Latest Wandance visual featuring Hikari Wanda herself

As for the Wandance plot, Kodansha talks about it like this:

A SHY TEENAGER HAPPENS ON A CLASSMATE DANCING ALONE, AND HER JOY TURNS A KEY, UNLOCKING SOMETHING IN HIS HEART…

Kaboku Kotani is starting high school, and he plans to do what he’s always done: go along with his friends, keep quiet, and not draw too much attention to himself. After all, it’s hard enough to get by with a stutter like his— why make things worse by standing out from the crowd?

But then he sees another first-year, Hikari Wanda, dancing like no one is watching—or like she doesn’t care who sees her.

It makes Kaboku wonder: Could he reach that same freedom?

To find his way to Wanda, he does something he never thought he could: He joins the dance club. After all, every routine begins with a single step, right?

Wandance will be streaming on Disney+ beginning in October. Look out for it.
