The World of Immortals, Episode 4 trailer has just been released via the Tencent Video – Animation YouTube channel, with the 37 second trailer giving us a quick look into the high-speed action we can expect to see in the fantasy donghua’s latest episode.
In it, we see protagonist Xiao Chen breaking into a room where the princess, Zhao Lin’er is sleeping.
It then appears the young master of the Gu family of the World of Immortals is connected to this, as the next thing we see is a huge fight between him and Xiao Chen.
A fight that, if the emergence of Xiao Chen’s dragon has anything to do with it, probably doesn’t end too badly for him.
Throw in that Xiao Chen is also using dragon essence crystals to cultivate to make himself even stronger, and I have a feeling our lovely protagonist will be more than a match for the slimy and sleazy Master Gu.
World of Immortals details
The donghua World of Immortals (aka Chang Sheng Jie) is animated by Chinese animation studio Qingxiang Culture (Apotheosis), and produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures.
It is based on a popular novel by Chen Dong.
Baidu Encyclopedia explains the donghua’s plot in this way:
“Who in the world can escape death?
No matter how stunning your beauty is, how peerless you are, in the end, you will still become a crimson skull; no matter how mighty you are, ruling over a vast kingdom, in the end, you will turn into a handful of dust.
However, the legend of immortality has always been passed down through the ages.
According to ancient tales, beyond the mortal realm, there exists a vast realm of immortality. It is home to many tribes, including ancient war clans with strong rivaling gods, powerful barbarian tribes with immortal beast souls sealed within their bodies, elegant and unfathomable beauty clans, and even true deities.
There are even older legends, such as those of Sui Ren wandering in the southern wastelands, the Nest Clan building celestial nests in the heavens, Fuxi forging bronze hexagrams in the extreme western mountains of a million copper peaks, and the Buddha shrouding himself in a burial cloth, lost and wandering in the vast Eastern Sea.
With blood-pumping battles, temptations of passion and desire, Xiao Chen follows the traces of the immortals, gradually uncovering the veil of an ancient mythical world sealed for endless ages…”
