Welcome to Samdalri, Episode 11 had an almost 1 percent rating drop nationwide in South Korea tonight, after earning 8.3 percent for its previous episode.
According to Nielsen Korea data via Daum, Welcome to Samdalri, Episode 11 grabbed 7.3 percent of the audience share nationwide, and 8.0 percent in Seoul – down from it previous episode’s 8.7 percent.
Even with that drop, however, the Korean drama still earned a sizeable number of viewers, as well as ended up in 2nd place in its time slot.
International audiences still loving Welcome to Samdalri
Meanwhile, international audiences still seem to be very happy with each new episode of the Korean drama.
It has been on the Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows chart on Netflix for three of the four weeks that currently has data available.
In the latest Netflix data (for the week of December 25th to December 31st), the romantic comedy was also in the Top 10 in 15 countries in Asia.
Meanwhile, over 25,000 users of the Asian-drama focused website My Drama List are still rating it an average of 8.4 out of 10 (over 8.0 percent on that site is excellent), while IMDB users are continuing to give it a solid 8.0 out of 10.
All in all then, solid ratings nationwide in South Korea, and excellent ratings outside it. Yay!
The next episode of Welcome to Samdalri will air tomorrow on JTBC in South Korea at 22:30 (KST), with Netflix streaming it for their international subscribers.
Fingers crossed Episode 12 gets a ratings bump, as the Korean drama has been a welcome healing show through most of its run, while Shin Hye Sun and Ji Chang Wook are playing one of the Korean drama world’s most interesting recent couples.
