RADWIMPS Weathering With You songs a hit on Japan’s digital charts

Even though the new Makoto Shinkai’s anime feature film Weathering With You (Tenki no Ko) will not be releasing in the west for a few months yet, you still may want to listen to the RADWIMPS Weathering With You songs from the film.

After all, the four-member Japanese rock band is topping the digital charts in Japan with ‘Ai ni Dekiru koto wa Mada Arukai‘ (Is There Still Anything That Love Can Do?), one of the five theme songs from the film.

In just its first week of release, RADWIMPS ‘Ai ni Dekiru koto wa Mada Arukai’ has already sold more than 55,000 digital copies. That catapulted it to the number one spot on Japan’s weekly singles chart.

As if that wasn’t good enough news for the rock band, another song from the film, ‘Grand Escape‘ feat. Touku Miura, is in second place on the chart, after selling 41,000 digital copies.

Not surprising really as the Weathering With You soundtrack album is incredibly pretty (I listened to it for half of yesterday), with its five RADWIMPS songs, plus 26 instrumental pieces also from the band.

With a total of 31 tracks, and one hour and 6 minutes of listening time, it’s beautiful music to listen to as you go about your day.

The album itself is also the top-selling digital album of the week in Japan, with over 13,000 digital sales.

You can also watch the beautiful RADWIMPS ‘Ai ni Dekiru koto wa Mada Arukai‘ (Is There Still Anything That Love Can Do?) music video below that.

That song has also been adopted by fans of Kyoto Animation as a tribute to KyoAni employees and a message to the Japanese studio, which was attacked by an arsonist last week causing the deaths of 34 of the studio’s employees.
