With the now-ended Korean drama My Dearest Nemesis airing its final two episodes back-to-back on tvN in South Korea last night, I would have expected at least one of them to grab an all-time high rating.
But, apparently, that wasn’t to be.
Instead, My Dearest Nemesis, Episodes 11 and 12 both earned national ratings that were almost a full percentage point below the K-drama’s highest rated episode — Episode 6.
Those nationwide ratings were 4.34 percent for Episode 11 and 4.13 percent for Episode 12, the series finale – compared to Episode 6’s all-time high viewership of 5.07 percent.
Meanwhile, My Dearest Nemesis, Episodes 11 and 12 ratings in Seoul were even lower.
In that region, the K-drama only earned 3.94 percent for Episode 11 and 3.40 percent for Episode 12.
Those ratings are a full percentage point lower than the audience share My Dearest Nemesis grabbed for Episode 5 (4.90 percent), the Korean rom-com’s highest rating in Seoul.
Yes, all of these ratings are definitely solid ratings, as well as placed the show either in the #1 or #2 place in its time slot in both regions but, for such a well-written, well-acted rom-com, I would have expected them to be even better.
International ratings after My Dearest Nemesis, Episodes 11 and 12
Interestingly, the ratings from international fans for My Dearest Nemesis now that the drama has ended its 12-episode run are excellent.
The oft-disgruntled folks over at My Drama List are awarding the K-drama a very good (for that platform) 8.2 out of 10, while almost 16,000 viewers on Viki, where My Dearest Nemesis is streaming, are giving it an extremely high average of 9.6 out of 10.
Happy to see both of those results, aren’t you?
My Dearest Nemesis stars the excellent main cast of Moon Ga Young, Choi Hyun Wook, Im Se Mi, and Kwak Si Yang.
And, if you are not yet caught up, all 12 episodes of the Korean drama are now available to stream on Viki for subscribers.
Next week, My Dearest Nemesis will be replaced by Lee Dong Wook‘s new drama The Divorce Insurance in the same time slot.
Now, that one I am really looking forward to!
