Yan Jin’s character PV has The Demon Hunter 2’s #5 genius as cool, calm and collected

The latest The Demon Hunter 2 character video was released earlier today on YOUKU Animation’s YouTube channel and, this time, it is for one of the most mysterious characters in the Chinese donghua.

That character is Meng Chuan and Liu Qiyue’s friend Yan Jin, who is also heading to the Yuanchu Mountain Trials that will be taking place in the second season along with the other two.

What do we know about Yan Jin?

Yan Jin, of course, first showed up in the first season of The Demon Hunter during the Demon Slaying Contest that took place in the show’s earlier episodes.

He was also ranked in the group of Top 10 Geniuses at the end of Episode 30 of the donghua’s first season as Yan Jin, fifth of the Rank of Genius — White-Haired Immortal.

And, while Yan Jin has become a popular character with fans of the donghua, his background is still mysterious with very little known about him except that he once commented that his parents had been killed while he was still a child.

That then is one of the things we are all hoping we will learn more about when The Demon Hunter 2 hits. Who is Yan Jin? What happened to his parents?

And why is he now so powerful?

A donghua that, if you have paid any attention to the animation and art style in the numerous trailers, looks like it will be one of the absolute standouts of 2025.
