Our Unwritten Seoul, EP2 sees significant ratings increase as viewers rave about the script
I am utterly thrilled to see Korean network tvN’s latest K-drama, Our Unwritten Seoul, has been earning significant attention since its premiere on May 24th, 2025.
So much so, when Our Unwritten Seoul, Episode 2 aired last night, it grabbed a substantial ratings increase in both Seoul and nationwide as word spread about its interesting plot and excellent performances — especially from Park Bo Young in her dual role as twin sisters.
Nationwide, Our Unwritten Seoul, Episode 2 garnered 5.04 percent of the viewership on Sunday, which is a substantial increase from Episode 1’s already decent audience share of 3.62 percent.
In Seoul, the ratings for the Korean dramas second episode were even better — with 5.57 percent of the viewership on Sunday evening, versus Saturday’s 4.19 percent.
International viewers’ reaction to K-drama after Episode 2 airs
International viewers using My Drama List (MDL) are also overwhelmingly positive about the first two episodes of Our Unwritten Seoul, and are currently raving about both its script and performances.
Comments range from:
Only 2 episodes in but I I am overwhelmed with a lot of emotions already. I love all the characters . Incoming pains and good angst are expected judging by the writer’s history.
I watched two of the writer’s previous works ( Youth of May and We All Cry Differently) and she loves some good angst. They were not necessarily depressing, just good amount of angst with a lot of heart and lessons.
to the simple:
wtf is wrong with me… I’m bawling like crazy in the first episode itself.. holy that came out of nowhere.
They also include comments about the Korean actress’ ability to choose the best projects to appear in:
Park Bo Young literally never fails with her script choices…these first 2 eps were (a) really strong start.
And yep, I agree with that sentiment wholeheartedly with just the huge success of her recent choices — Melo Movie, Light Shop, Daily Dose of Sunshine and Strong Girl Namsoon — proving the 35-year-old Korean actress knows how to pick a script.
Telling too is that, after Episode 2 aired on Sunday night, Our Unwritten Seoul is still earning a solid 8.1 out of 10 on the site, compared to the often lower than 7.5 to 7.7 out of 10 new dramas are awarded due to the site’s many trolls.
That likely means, if the writer hasn’t screwed this up, and Park Bo Young’s performance continues to be on point, my guess is we will only see rising ratings from here.
Our Unwritten Seoul stars Park Bo Young, Park Jin Young, and Ryu Kyung Soo.
It airs every Saturday and Sunday night at 21:20 (KST) through June 29th, as well as streams internationally via Netflix.
