Was the person who edited new Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 trailer on cocaine? It’s crazy but BRILLIANT!

I just laughed delightedly the whole way through the newly-released Kaiju No. 8, Season 2 trailer as it is so frenetic, so fast-paced, so wild and crazy, if the anime wasn’t one of my most-anticipated releases this summer, it would be after I finished that.

The new Kaiju No. 8, Season 2 trailer dropped earlier today on the TOHO Animation YouTube channel, and gives us a great look into what we can expect now that Kafka is known to his friends in the Third Division as being a kaiju, and command are also now planning on using him as a ‘living weapon’.

Even if the trailer does appear to have been edited by someone doing major amounts of cocaine. LOL.

And what we can expect, it appears, is a fast-paced and frenzied ride back into that world that is under attack by kaiju, and the lives of the people trying to save humanity from them.

All of our favorite characters are back, as well as several new ones, and all of them look incredibly united in their mission going forward.

General Narumi is brilliantly cool

New character, General Narumi, who was introduced at the end of the final episode of Season 1, also gets some decent attention in the new trailer.

Voiced by the absolutely wonderful Kouki Uchiyama (Tomura Shigaraki in My Hero Academia), I have a feeling he may just be one of my favorite characters in the new season.

Hiroki Yasumoto (King in One Punch Man) was also revealed as being the voice of First Division Vice-Captain Eiji Hasegawa, while Kana Hanazawa (Mitsura in Demon Slayer) is playing Rin Shinonome.

Kaiju No. 8, Season 2 opening theme song by AURORA

All of the craziness in the latest Kaiju No. 8, Season 2 trailer appears even more frenetic as it is played to the backdrop of wild rock music that then morphs into the anime’s new opening theme song — ‘You Can’t Run From Yourself‘.

Like its first season, which had English singer songwriter YUNGBLUD performing its opening theme, and American pop rock band One Republic responsible for its ending theme, Season 2 of Kaiju No. 8 has also gone with a non-Japanese musician.

This time, ‘You Can’t Run From Yourself‘ is performed by the quirky and very cool Swedish indie singer songwriter AURORA and, from the snippet that appears in the trailer, it sounds like it will be another banger.

Just like both theme songs from the absolutely brilliant Season 1.

Watch the just-dropped new Kaiju No. 8, Season 2 trailer, and try not to get too excited, as we still have another month to go before the anime’s second season premieres on July 19th.

And then feel nothing but admiration for voice actress Ai Fairouz, who plays Kikoru, and who just screamed throughout that entire trailer.
