The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 announced – light novel material for 8 more seasons yet
I am always so incredibly grateful that, every time a season of The Apothecary Diaries anime ends, its next season is immediately announced by TOHO Animation.
Such, of course, is the case for The Apothecary Diaries, Season 3, which has just been announced as in production by the animation studio right after the final episode of Season 2 dropped earlier today.
Of course, no real details were released about the massively popular historical anime, with the only thing dropping a teaser trailer that, other than hints about problems with the empire’s crops, only tells us the next events will take place “in a new land“.
Anyone who has reading Natsu Hyūga’s light novel series, or manga, that the anime is based on will already know what that means.
Locusts.
Eight more seasons of The Apothecary Diaries possible
And, by the way, the first two seasons of The Apothecary Diaries cover the events of Volumes 1 through 4 of the light novel series.
That means, with 20 volumes of the series currently out in Japan (7 out in physical copies in English via Square Enix), if the pacing of the anime remains the same, there is a massive amount of material still to cover, with enough for eight more anime seasons.
Fingers crossed, eh?
And that’s if Natsu Hyūga stops writing the series now, and she doesn’t show any signs of it yet.
Here’s The Apothecary Diaries, Season 3 announcement video.
We’ll update you as soon as more information drops but, if it’s anything like the gap between Seasons 1 and 2, we could likely see the first episode of The Apothecary Diaries, Season 3 hitting some time in May, 2026.
