Preliminary information has dropped for the upcoming isekai reincarnation anime Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling, and let’s just say this one is adorably cute.
Well, if you enjoy a story about a grown man dying and waking up as a dragon egg with all the trials and tribulations that kind of reincarnation brings. (And yes. Yes, I do).
Today’s info drop then is a Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling teaser trailer and a very cute key visual showing protagonist Illusia, now out of his dragon egg shell and a walking, talking dragon hatchling, while his friend Miria runs behind him.

Character designs for Illusia and Miria were also released via the Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling X account.

The upcoming anime is based on the popular light novels written by Nekoko and illustrated by Naji Yanagida.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the novels in English, with 11 volumes already out and Volume 12 due to release in November.
Volume 1 of the light novel series’ original Japanese release describes the Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling plot like this:
One morning, he wakes up in the forest and finds that his body has turned into an egg…is this reincarnation?!
He fights monsters that attack him without knowing why, and evolves into a dragon by leveling up!! He grows stronger and fights against formidable foes! But he misses humans…

It is being animated by studios GA-CREW and FelixFilm, and directed by Yuuta Takemura (The Most Notorious “Talker” Runs the World’s Greatest Clan).
Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling is scheduled for a 2026 premiere.
