My Troublesome Star Ep 3 grabs best ratings yet as international viewers cool on K-drama
The ongoing ENA drama My Troublesome Star, Episode 3 aired last night to its best ratings yet both from nationwide viewers and from those in Seoul.
According to Nielsen Korea, My Troublesome Star, Episode 3 garnered 2.41 percent of the nationwide audience share, which is a substantial jump from its previous rating of 1.90 percent last week.
In Seoul, the Korean romantic comedy also saw higher ratings, earning 2.26 percent versus Episode 2’s viewership of 1.77 percent.
International ratings for My Troublesome Star
Unfortunately, the Korean drama is not performing particularly well internationally. At least if ratings on various sites are to be believed.
On My Drama List (MDL), for instance, the K-drama is currently rated a very low 7.4 out of 10 from more than 275 users.
It’s performing so poorly as viewers are commenting how much they hate Uhm Jung Hwa’s curly hair style (why do production companies do this to their stars?) and her ugly clothing style, and that they think the drama has “forced, unfunny comedy”.
They also believe it has been miscast.
Over on IMDB, My Troublesome Star is performing even worse with a 7.1 out of 10 from just 22 users.
It’s only on Viki, which often seems to artificially inflate its ratings anyway, where the K-drama is earning a 9.0 out of 10 from just over 300 people currently rating it.
My Troublesome Star stars Uhm Jung Hwa (Doctor Cha), Song Seung Heon (Black Knight), Lee El (When the Stars Gossip), Oh Dae Hwan (Salon de Holmes), Jang Da Ah (Pyramid Game), and Lee Min Jae (Crash Course in Romance) and airs every Monday and Tuesday evenings on ENA in South Korea.
Viki is streaming the Korean drama internationally.
