Shin’s Project Ep 5 grabs BEST ratings yet – #1 show across all broadcast networks

tvN drama Shin’s Project, Episode 5 aired on Monday night to the drama’s best ratings yet in South Korea, and with the series also grabbing the #1 spot across all TV channels.
Including both paid and public TV broadcasters.
According to data from Nielsen Korea, Shin’s Project, Episode 5 earned 8.74 percent of the nationwide audience share, which is an increase from Episode 4’s rating of 7.69 percent last week.
The K-drama also performed extremely well in Seoul, where it garnered 8.02 percent of the audience versus the 7.43 percent of its previous episode last Tuesday night.
Yep, it appears it will be hitting double digits soon.
International ratings for Shin’s Project
Unfortunately, tvN have done a terrible job procuring international broadcasting rights for Shin’s Project, with the result that it isn’t available legally throughout most of the west.
Those who are watching the Korean drama and commenting about it, however, are generally nothing but positive about the series, with their only wish more people were watching it.
Comments on My Drama List (MDL), for instance, vary from:
I think that Shin’s Project is unfortunately the type of kdrama that is loved by Koreans but overlooked by international fans. The ratings for Episode 5 are great and there’s a big possibility the drama will eventually hit double digits. I hope that more international fans will discover it, the plot so far is very entertaining, the characters have excellent chemistry, and the message about justice and corruption is being handled very well.

Shin’s Project it’s not a project but Shin’s detectives negotiator psychology at work.
Different, original, funny, smartass Mr. Shin’s KD is very entertaining. Serious but enjoyable.
and
Very underrated show. I like how the leads feel competent, but not in an over-the-top, plot armor way. They all have realistic flaws without being obnoxious.
Of course, the low ratings for Shin’s Project on MDL are predictable, as the usual trolls not even watching the series downrate it due to being “offended” by something in its plot/an actor/the director/the writer etc etc etc.
In other words, rinse, wash, repeat when it comes to most MDL ratings when a drama is still airing.
Those MDL ratings for Shin’s Project will increase, of course, as the K-drama nears its completion, and as more people watching it begin to rate it.
The same goes for the almost always disgruntled users of IMDB, who see no problem downrating a drama to a 1 out of 10 (Yep, it happened for King the Land) if they believe something in it is “offensive”.
In this case, 32 people using that platform have downrated Shin’s Project to a stupidly low of 7.6 out of 10.
Considering Shin’s Project deserves nothing lower than an 8.2 out of 10, and possibly even higher, as I usually recommend, ignore the ratings for the K-drama on these two sites, read the comments of people actually watching it, and then watch Shin’s Project for yourself instead.
The next episode of Shin’s Project, which stars Han Suk Kyu, Bae Hyun Sung, and Lee Re, airs on tvN tonight, and will stream on whatever site you have managed to find that is hosting it.
