Walking on Thin Ice, Ep 5 grabs BEST ratings yet – most international viewers raving about the Kdrama
The ongoing KBS2 crime thriller Walking on Thin Ice, Episode 5 aired last night to its best ratings yet.
Nielsen Korea is reporting Walking on Thin Ice, Episode 5 earned 5.1 percent for its nationwide ratings, versus the 3.0 percent it garnered for Episode 4 (its lowest rating so far).
The Korean drama also grabbed its highest ever ratings from audiences in Seoul where it also earned 5.1 percent of the audience share compared to the much lower 2.9 percent it achieved for Episode 4.
Yep, both of those ratings — more than 2 percent points for each of them — are a substantial jump from the K-drama’s previous episode, and a welcome achievement as the KBS2 drama really is excellent.
International ratings for Walking on Thin Ice after Episode 5
As you would likely expect if you know anything about the disgruntled trolls over at My Drama List (MDL), this superb drama is currently only earning a 7.7 out of 10 on the platform.
Especially as the comments from people actually watching the K-drama are very positive.
Then again, a character in the drama probably said something that “offended” the trolls or an actor performing in it has “done something” they don’t like. No. You can’t fix stupid. Don’t even try.
Thankfully, over on Viki, where Walking on Thin Ice is streaming internationally, and where that site’s administrators monitor ratings far more closely than those at MDL, and then delete ratings from trolls, the K-drama is currently being awarded a 9.6 out of 10.
Hell, even on IMDB, where trolls tend to run amok, Walking on Thin Ice is currently being rated a 9.1 out of 10 – proving yet again how disreputable My Drama List’s ratings often end up being.
Walking on Thin Ice stars the superb main trio of Lee Young Ae, Kim Young Kwang and Park Yong Woo.
The Korean drama’s next episode airs/streams later on tonight on both KBS2 in South Korea and on Viki or KOCOWA internationally, depending on your region.
