Staff involved in the A Sign of Affection anime series

The A Sign of Affection English dub cast is directed by Jason Lord, with Susie Nixon producing and Leah Clark adapting it to English.

The anime (aka Yubisaki to Renren in Japan) is based in the hit manga series written and illustrated by Su Morishita — the mangaka who also created the popular manga Shortcake Cake.

It is directed by Yuuta Murano (Kakushigoto), with Yoko Yonaiyama in charge of series composition, and Kasumi Sakai designing the characters.

The manga series is being published in English by Kodansha, with seven volumes out in paperback and digital, while the Japanese version currently has 10 tankōbon volumes out.

Kodansha describes the beginnings of the A Sign of Affection plot like this:

Yuki, who has always been deaf, is used to communicating with sign language and her phone. But she’s not used to English, so when a tourist from overseas asks for directions, she nearly panics…until a handsome stranger steps in to help.

His name is Itsuomi, and it turns out he’s a friend of a friend. A charismatic globetrotter, Itsuomi speaks three languages, but he’s never had a deaf friend.

The two feel drawn to each other and plan a date on a romantic winter’s night…but Yuki’s friend is afraid that she might be setting herself up to get hurt. Could this be something real? Or will these feelings melt away with the snow?

The first episode of the A Sign of Affection English dub arrives on Crunchyroll tomorrow, January 20th, 2024.

For those of you who prefer an English dub, this one should be a good one, as the voice cast is excellent.
