An Archdemon’s Dilemma creditless ending animation includes anime’s gorgeous ED

One of the cutest and funniest anime series of the Spring, 2024 season is An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride, which currently has three episodes out and another one due in a couple of days.

In celebration of the rom-com anime now broadcasting, the production committee has released the An Archdemon’s Dilemma creditless ending animation that, along with its sweet shots of protagonist Zagan and his elf love Nephy, also highlights some of the anime’s supporting characters and its ending theme.

An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride ending theme song is perfect

That ending theme — ‘Blue Star’ performed by Sayaka Yamamoto — is yet another standout about the fantasy rom-com anime as, its lyrics are so utterly perfect for the story of Zagan and Nephy, sung from Zagan’s point of view:

It was already a habit
To kill my heart and abandon my desires
No one notices, and that’s fine
But why do you understand?

It’s like something so precious gently
Touches with a kind hand
Slowly opening now is my rusty heart
That was supposed to be locked away

(full lyrics at Lyrical Nonsense)

while the melody of the song, just like Nephy, is so pretty.

An Archdemon’s Dilemma anime cast, staff and plot

As for the An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How To Love Your Elf Bride anime series, it is based on the light novels written by Fuminori Teshima and illustrated by Comta.

Those novels are being published in English by J-Novel Club, who explains the plot like this:

Zagan is a super powerful sorcerer, but lives as a recluse. And now he faces his greatest test… falling in love!
Zagan is feared by the masses as an evil sorcerer. Both socially awkward and foulmouthed, he spends his days studying sorcery while beating down any trespassers within his domain.

One day he’s invited to a dark auction, and what he finds there is an elven slave girl of peerless beauty, Nephy. Having fallen in love at first sight, Zagan uses up his entire fortune to purchase her, but being a poor conversationalist, he has no idea how to properly interact with her.

Thus, the awkward cohabitation of a sorcerer who has no idea how to convey his love and his slave who yearns for her master but has no idea how to appeal to him begins.

There are 16 volumes of the novel currently out in English, with Volume 17 due in June.

You can grab the first 16 volumes via Amazon now.

The An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride anime stars the superb voice actors Kana Ichinose (Mito in Vampire Dormitory) as Nephelia (Nephy) and Yuusuke Kobayashi (Senkuu in Dr. Stone) as Zagan.

The anime series is being directed by Hiroshi Ishiodori (Dual Masters!!), and with scripts and series composition by Aya Yoshinaga (Kingdom, Season 5).

Mina Osawa (Given) is both chief animation director and in charge of character designs, with the animation production being handled by Brain’s Base.
