BL anime Babanbabanban Vampire gets trailer, cool key visual, character visuals plus cast announcements

You have got to love it when your two favorite genres — Boys’ Love and vampires — get merged into one, and come out as a visually striking looking new anime series.

That series is Babanbabanban Vampire — an upcoming vampire-themed Boys’ Love anime based on the Bloody Love-Comedy manga by Hiromasa Okujima that tells the story of 450-year-old vampire Ranmaru Mori who is a live-in part-time bathhouse attendant.

And, although it is a fair few months before Babanbabanban Vampire premieres, that fantasy anime did receive its first teaser trailer (watch below), key visual, main character visuals and main cast announcements this week, and all make this comedy BL anime look absolutely bloody beautiful.

First Babanbabanban Vampire key visual features Ranmaru Mori at work at the bathhouse
Ranmaru Mori and Rihito Tatsuno

Ranmaru will be voiced by Daisuke Namikawa (Shouta in Kimi ni Todoke), while Rihito is being played by Yusuke Kobayashi (Zagan in An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride).

The Babanbabanban Vampire anime series is being directed by Itsuro Kawasaki (The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil), who is also in charge of scripts and series composition.

Yukiko Ban (A Girl & Her Guard Dog) is both character designer and chief animation director, while Studio GAINA (The Foolish Angel…) is in charge of anime production.

The Babanbabanban Vampire plot

Now back to Ranmaru, and his job at a bathhouse.

A job he has held for 10 years just so he can protect the owner’s now-15-year-old son Rihito Tatsuno until he reaches the age of 18.

After all, there is nothing better than sucking the blood of an 18-year-old virgin male.

A problem in Ranmaru’s plan develops, however, when Rihito rushes home from his first day in high school to inform Ranmaru he has fallen in love at first sight with a girl in his class.

Now it is up to Ranmaru to protect Rihito’s virginity at all costs. At least until it is time for that utterly delicious first bite.

Watch the first Babanbabanban Vampire teaser trailer below, and mark your calendars for January, 2025 as that is when this visually striking looking Boys’ Love vampire anime will premiere.
