Blue Lock 2 gets a premiere date and a cool celebration visual from Yusuke Nomura

It has now been over a year since the first season of the sports-themed anime Blue Lock ended.

Long enough for fans to get antsy, believing it will be several more football seasons before Season 2 of the anime finally appears.

Thankfully, that appears not to be the case as Blue Lock, Season 2 finally got an official premiere date today.

Well, an official premiere month and year, at least.

That Blue Lock, Season 2 premiere date is now currently set for October, 2024.

Meaning, at the most, it will only be less than six months before the football anime for the unhinged premieres — even if the end of October turns out to be the case.

A celebration visual for the upcoming second season was also released on the official X PR account for the anime series by manga artist Yusuke Nomura.

Blue Lock movie

Until then, a Blue Lock movie is also on its way.

Called Blue Lock The Movie: Episode Nagi ( エピ凪), it retells the story of the first season of the anime from Nagi’s perspective.

Sure, we will probably get many repeat scenes, as well as a rehash of everything we already know about the cutthroat football anime, but it still could be worth a watch as Nagi is cool.

Meanwhile, the first season of the anime is still streaming on Crunchyroll just in case you missed it/want another watch through.

The sociopath-filled anime series, of course, is based on the hit Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura manga series.

It is directed by Haikyu! episode director Tetsuaki Watanabe, and with Studio Eightbit in charge of the anime production.

About Steve Reynolds

Obsessed with anime and manga. Desperate for time to stop with only me left moving in the world. Then I'd have the time needed to watch the 543 anime DVDs I own, and read the more than 1,000 manga.
