The just ended 24-episode anime adaptation of Ryoko Kui’s popular manga series, Delicious in Dungeon, recently concluded its first season with a bang as it became one of Netflix most successful anime series.

To commemorate this milestone, and its gorgeous art style, the anime’s official X account released a special celebratory visual late yesterday created by none other than the original manga author, Ryoko Kui.

That beautiful and high-energy visual features Falin as her monster-self showing off her power, as Laios, Marcille, Senshi, Chilchuck and Izutsumi appear to be running away from her. Fast.

Remember, Delicious in Dungeon, Season 1 ended without any conclusion to Falin’s story — or any rescue — except for a plan to maybe eat her dragon parts?

Along with the new Delicious in Dungeon celebratory visual, the anime’s X account thanked fans for the last six months, during which time the anime was airing, and reminded them they will continue to provide merchandise, collaborations, events, and more while its second season is in production.

The anime’s second season was officially announced as soon as its first ended along with a new trailer featuring Thistle although a premiere date has not yet been released.

The Delicious in Dungeon manga series is published in English in its entirety (the final volume, Volume 14 releases in July) by Yen Press, who explains its plot in this manner:

When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions…and a member! They’re eager to go back and save her, but there is just one problem: If they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they’re sure to starve on the way!

But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: “Let’s eat the monsters!” Slimes, basilisks, and even dragons…none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!

You can watch all 24 episodes of Season 1 now via Netflix.
