Chinese donghua Wuliao Jiu Wanjie gets Japanese dub and new title Stopping Your Nosebleed With My Love
Fans of Chinese donghua who don’t like the Chinese language (don’t understand that, but there ya go) will be happy with today’s news at least.
The superb Chinese animated series Don’t Give Up! (aka Wuliao Jiu Wanjie) is getting a Japanese dub, along with a typically weird Japanese title.
Calling itself Kono Ko de Hanaji o Tomete (aka ‘Stopping Your Nosebleed With My Love‘), the Don’t Give Up! Japanese dub will release some time in April, 2025 on Fuji TV in Japan, which will give animation fans the chance to watch the series in a language other than Chinese.
Megumi Han and Natsuki Hanae announced as VAs for Menke and Yasen
Along with the news, we also got a new Don’t Give Up! trailer promoting the Japanese dub but, oddly, it doesn’t feature the voices of the Japanese voice actors who will be playing main characters — Menke and Yasen.
Instead, we just get epic orchestral music playing as scenes from the donghua rush by.
We did, however, get visuals of both of the main VAs and the characters they are playing.
They are:
Megumi Han (Shikanoko in My Deer Friend Nokotan) who plays Menke:
and Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro in Demon Slayer) as Yasen.
The plot of Don’t Give Up!
The just-ended 24-episode donghua Don’t Give Up! is animated by Chinese studio Shengying Animation.
It premiered on July 5th on Bilibili, and ran through November 29th. The Chinese anime is based on the popular manhua of the same name written and illustrated by Chengzi.
The Don’t Give Up! plot goes like this:
Menke, an ordinary woman who could be found anywhere, was living a dull, uneventful life. However, one day, the office where she worked gets caught up in an alien battle.
The super alien Yasen, who saved Menke, also accidentally infected her with a parasite called “Shingen Worm” that he was holding.
Those parasitized by this worm “die if they get bored”!
Thus we have a story about the fate of Menke, who faces the threat of death every day, and Yasen, the clumsy but straightforward hero who wants to save her…!?
And, yes, if you haven’t watched Don’t Give Up! in its original Chinese, or even if you have, you should watch this one as it features a gorgeous art style, brilliantly unique main characters, a really wonderful love story, and an actual, incredibly well-written story.
