The new Ahn Bo Hyun-led drama Flex X Cop, Episode 1 premiered last night to very strong ratings.

Ratings, both nationwide and in Seoul, that are higher than those earned by My Demon, the previous K-drama in the same time slot.

According to Nielsen Korea, Flex X Cop, Episode 1 aired on SBS to 5.7 percent of the nationwide rating.

Compared to the 4.5 percent nationwide rating My Demon earned for its first episode, that is a substantially higher early rating.

The Korean drama also performed similarly in Seoul, earning 5.8 percent of the audience share compared to My Demon‘s 5.1 percent Seoul rating.

Whether it can maintain that strong rating going forward, however, we will know more after Flex X Cop‘s second episode airs later on tonight.

Preliminary international ratings for Flex X Cop

While the first ratings from international users are not usually particularly accurate, they are currently strong when it comes to the first episode of Flex X Cop. (Let’s see if that changes with subsequent episodes).

For instance, users of My Drama List are currently rating the Korean comedy action drama a very strong 8.3 out of 10, while the 19 users rating it on IMDB are giving the K-drama an average rating of 8.8 out of 10.

Unfortunately, Disney Plus bought the international streaming rights for Flex X Cop and not Netflix so most would-be Flex X Cop viewers will have to wait to watch it legally, as Disney tends to delay the release of K-dramas.

(Honestly, I really wish all Korean drama production companies would only sell their rights to Netflix — a better platform, and one that usually streams the drama the same day it airs in Korea).

Flex X Cop stars Ahn Bo Hyun and Park Ji Hyun.

It airs on SBS in Korea every Friday and Saturday at 22:00 (KST), with its next episode out later on tonight.
