Along with the trailer, which features Hinaki Yano’s voice, Ficelle Harbeller’s cute character designs were also released showing the adorable but deadly sword wielder in typical defense mode, along with her facial designs and full body visual.

After commenting it appears fans think the “old country bumpkin” of the title is “cool”, voice actress Hinaki Yano promised “to bring out the richness of Fissel’s facial expressions!” to make the anime even more fun to watch.

From Old Country Bumpkin… plot

As for the Old Country Bumpkin plot, the anime and the Shigeru Sagazaki light novel series it is based on follow sword instructor Beryl Gardinant who, while he has always wanted to be a master swordsman, has now decided he is too old for that.

So he spends his days training young people to become that which he couldn’t.

This all changes when one of Beryl’s former students pulls strings to get him appointed as an instructor for the Liberion Order, the kingdom’s prestigious knights.
