Other than its second episode, weekend drama Iron Family has always been the #1 show of the week in South Korea of any kind every week since it premiered on September 28th, 2024.
That long run was certainly not broken last night either, as the K-drama’s penultimate episode, Iron Family, Episode 35, maintained its #1 show status with extremely high ratings. Again.
In fact, the KBS2 drama grabbed 18.3 percent of the nationwide audience on Saturday night, which is only slightly down from its previous episode’s 19.0 percent of the viewership.
Seoul audiences also watched Iron Family, Episode 35 in high numbers, with 16.4 percent of that region’s viewership tuning in last night.
All in all then, with the final episode of Iron Family airing later on tonight, you could say the Korean drama is a smash hit.
International ratings for Iron Family
The ratings from international viewers change depending on the platform.
Users of My Drama List are now rating Iron Family with a quite low 7.7 out of 10, but that is normal as weekend dramas rarely perform particularly well on that site.
Meanwhile, over on IMDB, the Korean drama is earning a slightly lower 7.6 out of 10 — surprisingly not a bad rating for that site, where users are allowed to rate bomb a series with impunity. (No, reviews on IMDB are not remotely reliable).
Finally, over on Viki where Iron Family is streaming for their international subscribers, the series is earning a high 9.2 out of 10 from over 2,000 users.
Comments too on the site are largely very positive.
Iron Family stars Kim Jung Hyun, Geum Sae Rok, Choi Tae Joon, and Yang Hye Ji, along with a superb ensemble cast of supporting actors.
The Korean drama’s final episode will hit KBS2 in South Korea, and then streaming platforms, later on tonight.
After last night’s shock ending, you might want to watch it. It will likely grab its highest ratings of its run.
