Ishura Season 2 gets new visual, disturbing new trailer, theme songs and premiere date

Exciting news for fans of the isekai action anime Ishura.

The anime’s official X account has just announced that Season 2 will kick off on Japanese television and stream on Disney+ starting Wednesday, January 8th, 2025.

Along with this welcome news, a brand-new teaser visual has also been shared (see below), along with details about the anime’s second season theme songs, and its second (quite disturbing) trailer.

Those Ishura, Season 2 theme songs will be ‘True Peak‘ performed by Mayu Maeshima, and Sajou no Hana‘s ‘THE IOLITE’, which you will recognize as the first season’s opening theme.

Artist photos for both performers artists were also released, along with a comment for ‘True Peak

I will join this epic battle with song. Negative emotions are my weapons.

The anime’s second trailer was also released, featuring the voice and face of Kuro the Cautious (again voiced by Mariya Ise).

Ishura, Season 2 details

The fantasy anime series is based on the novels written by Keiso and illustrated by Kureta.

The novel series was first published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō and Kakuyomu websites, with Kadokawa publishing the series in print form in 2019.

It currently has nine volumes out in Japanese, and eight volumes in English via Yen Press with the ninth due in April, 2025.

Ishura, Season 2 is again being directed by Takeo Takahashi, but this time as Chief Director, and with Yuki Ogawa (Mieruko-chan) directing.

Series composition and scripts are by Kenta Ihara, with Yoko Kikuchi (Legend of the Galactic Heroes) and Yuka Takashina (Plunderer) again in charge of character designs.

Studio Passione is again animating the second season.

Yen Press describes its plot in this way:

In a world where the Demon King has died, a host of demigods capable of felling him have inherited the world.

A master fencer who can figure out how to take out their opponents with a single glance; a lancer so swift they can break the sound barrier; a wyvern rogue who fights with three legendary weapons at once; an all-powerful wizard who can speak thoughts into being; an angelic assassin who deals instant death.
