The October, 2024 Actor Brand Reputation Rankings have just been released by the Korean Business Research Institute and, just like last month, Jung Hae In, is in the #1 spot.
It is the second month in a row the 36-year-old actor has climbed to the top of the chart, due to being the star of the recently ended K-drama Love Next Door on tvN.
The actor was also #1 on Good Data Corporation’s Buzzworthy Drama Actors chart earlier in the month.
Calculations for the chart are made from mentions each actor gets in the media, alongside what the Korean Business Research Institute itself calls data analysis of “participation, interaction, and community indexes”.
Whatever that means.
In the case of the October, 2024 Actor Brand Reputation Rankings, data was compiled for actors who starred in movies, dramas or in OTT content from August 24th to September 24th.
The rest of the Top 10 in October, 2024 Actor Brand Reputation Rankings
Cha Seung Won, star of the recently released hit Netflix film Uprising, is at #2 on the chart, followed by Jung So Min (Jung Hae In’s co-star in Love Next Door) is in the #3 spot, with Jeon Jong Seo (Queen Woo) at #4, and Yoo Hae Jin (Three Meals a Day: Light) at #5.
Finishing out the Top 10 of the October Actor Brand Reputation Rankings, is Park Shin Hye (The Judge From Hell), at #6, Kim Woo Bin (Officer Black Belt) at #7, Kim Jae Joong (Bad Memory Eraser) at #8, Hwang Jung Min (Fresh Off the Sea) at #9 and Shin Hae Sun (Dear Hyeri) at #10.
While most people outside the Korean entertainment industry couldn’t care less about who is in the Top 10 in the Actor Brand Reputation Rankings (and there have been controversies about the accuracy of the rankings and biases in them anyway), it can be a pretty big deal for the actors themselves.
After all, the rankings suggest those who are currently interesting enough to the news media/fans that they are being mentioned again and again.
And that gives companies an idea of the actors they may want to hire to endorse their products.
Whatever you think about the Actor Brand Reputation Rankings, we should still say congratulations to Jung Hae In for hitting the #1 spot. Again.
