Koki Uchiyama cast as Rikuson in The Apothecary Diaries’ – Gyoku-ou’s mild-mannered attendant

Another The Apothecary Diaries cast member has been announced this week as the hit anime series moves well into its second cour.

That voice actor is Koki Uchiyama (Meruem in Hunter x Hunter) who has been cast as Rikuson, someone who Maomao often refers to as “Gaoshun #2” as he is just as calm, diligent and mild-mannered as Jinshi’s assistant.

He is also famous for never forgetting a face, and for being able to easily manipulate people.

The Apothecary Diaries light novel readers will remember Rikuson from Volume 5 when Maomao and Jinshi have to deal with a coming locust plague, and Rikuson is sent to the Western Capital to become Gyoku-ou’s attendant.

He is pictured, alongside voice actor Koki Uchiyama (known as “Ucchi” to his fans), above.

Rikuson is one of several new characters who will appear in The Apothecary Diaries in coming episodes.

Including military strategist and soon-to-be very important new character Lakan, who Rikuson also works with in the palace.

The next episode of The Apothecary Diaries anime series will premiere on Sunday, January 14th on Crunchyroll.
