Maaya Uchida joins Call of the Night 2 cast as Nazuna’s mom – anime gets new visual and premiere date
The upcoming anime Call of the Night Season 2 got a new key visual, premiere date (July 4th), and a new cast member earlier today in the form of the fabulous Maaya Uchida.
Uchida, of course, is one of Japan’s most successful voice actresses.
So much so, you will have heard her voice in many of the anime you love — with roles that include Tsukiko in Sengoku Youko, Naori in Love Is Indivisible by Twin, Mira in Astro Note, Lili in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Catarina in My Next Life as a Villainess, Rikka in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! and many many others.
In Call of the Night, Season 2 Maaya Uchida will be voicing nurse, and mother of Nazuna Nanakusa, Haru Nanakusa.
Along with Maaya Uchida’s addition to the cast, we also got a striking Call of the Night, Season 2 visual featuring protagonist the Nazuna Nanakusa and Midori Kohakobe in the top half, and Haru Nanakusa and Kabura Honda below.
The visual came with the comment:
The cracked screen with the cigarette and lighter in the center. The “Cigarette Case Edition Visual” that hints at their future is released.
So, yep, with Season 2 we are heading towards the Cigarette Case arc.
Production details for Call of the Night, Season 2
The anime adaptation of the Kotoyama-written manga series is being directed by Tomoyuki Itamura (The Case Study of Vanitas), with Michiko Yokote (Tsurune: Kazemai High School Kyudo Club) in charge of scripts, and Haruka Sagawa (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Season 3) designing the characters.
Liden Films (Bye Bye, Earth) is back animating the series.
As for the Call of the Night plot, it goes like this:
Love and youth are born at night__ Now, it’s time for a fun late-night stay-up!
Kou Yamori, a middle school sophomore who has been suffering from insomnia, meets a beautiful vampire, Nazuna Nanakusa, on the night he goes out alone for the first time.
“Stay up late until you’re satisfied with today, boy.”
Staying up late with her alone will greatly change Kou’s fate__ “This is the story of how I fell in love with Nazuna Nanakusa.” For all those who spend sleepless nights__ A midnight boy-meets-girl story!
The first season of the vampire-themed anime aired from July 8th, 2022 to September 30th, 2022, so it has been quite a long wait for Season 2 to hit.
That will now happen on July 4th.
Watch the previously released Call of the Night, Season 2 trailer to see what you can expect. And yep, this season should be a banger.
