MBC Motel California, Episode 12 ended the Korean drama last night with a big bump in its ratings.
Those ratings, according to Nielsen Korea, were much higher in both the nationwide and Seoul regions than the K-drama’s already-rising ratings on Friday for Episode 11.
Nationwide, Motel California, Episode 12 earned 5.9 percent of the audience share, which is 2.2 percent higher than the 3.7 percent the K-drama earned on Friday night.
In Seoul, the Korean drama’s ratings also came in much higher.
There, Motel California, Episode 12 grabbed the same 5.9 percent of the viewership as it did nationwide.
But, in this case, it was an increase from Episode 11’s rating of 3.8 percent in the region.
Now all 12 episodes of the Korean drama have been aired, we can also report the average rating per episode of Motel California was 4.3 percent nationwide and 4.4 percent in Seoul.
Both extremely solid numbers and a nice way for, what I think, was an excellent romance drama to end its run.
International ratings for Motel California after Episode 12 airs
The Korean drama has been streaming on Viki internationally since it premiered on January 10th, 2025.
After Episode 12 streamed last night, it is now being rated a high average of 8.9 out of 10 from over 6,600 people viewing it on that platform, and with some of the same people leaving overwhelmingly upbeat and positive comments.
Congratulations then to Motel California director Kim Hyung Min, stars Lee Se Young and Na In Woo, and the rest of the cast and crew for delivering a drama to us that was very well-directed, acted and produced.
