The ongoing MBC drama Motel California, Episode 6 aired last night to its lowest rating yet, and a substantial ratings drop from its previous night’s episode.
According to the latest numbers from Nielsen Korea, Motel California, Episode 6 garnered just 3.4 percent of the nationwide audience compared to Friday night’s 4.7 percent.
The K-drama’s reach was only slightly higher in Seoul, where it earned 3.5 percent of the viewership, down from Friday night’s 4.9 percent.
That drop from Friday to Saturday, however, has been normal for the MBC drama since it premiered, as the competition from other dramas is much higher on Saturday evenings.
The Korea drama kicks off its second half next week, so let’s see how it performs then.
Motel California ratings from international viewers
International ratings for Motel California have stayed pretty consistent since the Korean drama premiered on January 10th to excellent ratings on some platforms, and average on others.
The often disgruntled users of My Drama List are still awarding the MBC drama 7.8 out of 10, and users on the troll-populated IMDB are rating it an even lower 7.1 out of 10, while almost 1,900 subscribers watching the drama over on Viki are giving Motel California a very high 9.3 out of 10.
