My Dearest Nemesis Ep 1 premieres to solid ratings

New tvN drama My Dearest Nemesis, Episode 1 premiered last night to solid ratings for a first episode, although ratings that were also lower than those earned by its predecessor The Queen Who Crowns.

The Korean drama’s nationwide rating, for instance, was 3.53 percent compared to the 4.87 percent The Queen Who Crowns earned for its first episode in the same time slot.

In Seoul, My Dearest Nemesis garnered a slightly higher 3.66 percent of the viewership, compared to the 5.13 percent The Queen Who Crowns earned on January 6th for Episode 1.

That being said, the first ratings for a Korean drama are not usually particularly relevant.

Instead, as My Dearest Nemesis definitely earned solid ratings last night, what is more important is how the K-drama performs going forward.

We will know more about that when Episode 2 airs on tvN later on today.

International ratings for My Dearest Nemesis

So far, it appears the Korean rom-com is being enjoyed by the majority of people who are watching it. At least if the ratings over at Viki, where it is currently streaming, are anything to go by.

Over there, it is receiving a very high average rating of 9.8 out of 10 from close to 600 people who have reviewed the drama so far.

Comments are also overwhelmingly positive, with viewers complimenting the two actors and their chemistry, as well as saying how the rom-com is well-written and actually funny.

Regardless of how it performs in South Korea then, it appears My Dearest Nemesis will be a hit on Viki.

My Dearest Nemesis stars Moon Ga Young, Choi Hyun Wook, Im Se Mi, and Kwak Si Yang.

It airs every Monday and Tuesday at 20:50 (KST) on tvN, with Viki streaming each new episode around the same time.
